BTNInventory Remote Scanner

The BTNINV Remote Scanner allows you to get WMI data over the network from a central PC. The program will scan a single IP address or a range of IP addresses and collect the WMI data. You can also scan by computer name. There is an option to automatically get all the active computer names in a domain or workgroup. The user account logged into the PC that BTNINV Remote Scanner runs on must have Admin rights to the PC’s that the program connects to.

The data is saved to text based .INV files. If you copy the BTNINV Data Listener BTNIP.INI file to the BTNINV Remote Scanner program directory you can add the data directly to the database.

It collects almost the same data as the BTININV IP Scanner. A couple fields cannot be scanned correctly with WMI remotely. They are listed in the documentation.

This program was successfully tested with PC’s on a domain and with Microsoft Windows 2000 stand alone PC’s. Stand-alone PC’s with other operating systems may have a problem logging in.

There is a conversion program included which converts the inventory data files to a csv file for importing into spreadsheets.

Licensing:

The Remote Scanner program is freely licensed. The Data Listener program has it's own licensing based on the number of unique SID's in the database. To try the BTNINV Data Listener you need to download the BTN Inventory program.
